LexPix ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the service:

• Account data — if you sign in, we store your email address and encrypted password via Supabase.
• Learning progress — your flashcard reviews, quiz scores, and streaks are stored locally on your device (localStorage) and optionally synced to our database if you are signed in.
• Usage analytics — if enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised page views and session data (IP address is anonymised). No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.
• Payment data — if you upgrade to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and sync your learning progress across devices
• To process Pro subscription payments via Stripe
• To understand which features are most used and improve the app
• To send transactional emails (e.g. receipt, password reset) — never marketing without consent

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the third-party services necessary to operate LexPix:

• Supabase — authentication and database (EU servers)
• Stripe — payment processing
• Google Analytics — anonymised usage analytics (optional, can be blocked)
• Unsplash / Pexels — image search APIs (no personal data sent)
• Vercel — hosting and CDN

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use localStorage (not cookies) to save your preferences, progress, and settings locally. Analytics tools may set cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting core app functionality.

5. Data Retention

Your account and learning data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us. Anonymous analytics data is retained for 14 months per Google's default.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability

7. Children's Privacy

LexPix is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify signed-in users of material changes by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.
